Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a tragic turn of events, six people, including a couple, lost their lives in lightning strikes in Sawai Madhopur and Dausa districts of Rajasthan. The sudden change in weather due to active western disturbances led to unexpected rainfall and hailstorm in several areas on Friday.

The couple, Rajendra Meena (36) and Jalebi Meena (34), were struck by lightning while harvesting crops in their farm in Choth Ka Barwada area of Sawai Madhopur. The couple leaves behind three children, and local MLA Jitendra Gothwal has promised financial assistance to the family. In addition to the couple, a shepherd named Dhanna Lal Meena from Nantodi village and a 33-year-old man named Satveer from Rodwad village also fell victim to the lightning strikes in Sawai Madhopur. Three others sustained burn injuries in the incident.

In Dausa district, a 14-year-old Class 10 girl student named China Meena lost her life in Daulatpura village, while a 33-year-old man named Shahrukh Khan died from lightning in Lalsoth town. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased, with additional contributions from the disaster relief department and district administration.

The Meteorological Department has warned of further lightning, hailstorm, and rainfall in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner divisions in the next 24 hours. The sudden climatic changes have also resulted in a rise in temperatures across the state, with Alwar and Karauli recording the lowest minimum temperature at 10.8 degrees Celsius. Jaipur experienced a minimum temperature of 17.0 degrees Celsius, followed by heavy dust storms with a velocity of 50 to 60 km/hour, along with lightning and rain.

Areas like Tonk Road, Sikar Road, and Kalwar Road witnessed heavy rainfall, while outskirts like Bassi, Bagru, and Kalwar experienced hailstorms. The authorities are conducting crop assessments in areas affected by the weather disruptions to provide necessary support to the affected communities. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to assist those impacted by the natural calamities..
