BATU PAHAT: Fatal Motorcycle Collision on NSE

In a tragic incident on the North-South Expressway (NSE), a 56-year-old man lost his life while two others sustained injuries following a collision between their motorcycles at KM82.4.

The Acting Officer in Charge of the Batu Pahat district, Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, reported that the accident took place at 6.30am on Saturday morning as the trio was travelling northbound from Johor Baru.

As they reached Ayer Hitam, the three motorcyclists, who were riding together in a convoy, collided with each other, resulting in a fatal outcome for Muhamad Sagap, the deceased victim.

Details of the Incident

One of the riders, aged 38, sustained a severe head injury, while the other, aged 46, suffered a serious neck injury in the crash. Meanwhile, an SUV driven by a 29-year-old woman narrowly avoided the collision but ended up hitting the road divider.

All the injured parties were promptly transported to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for medical attention, with the female driver escaping unscathed from the ordeal.

Legal Action and Investigation

The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic collision.

As the community mourns the loss of Muhamad Sagap and prays for the swift recovery of the injured individuals, road safety remains a critical concern for all motorists travelling on the NSE.
