Bhadohi: In a shocking turn of events in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, a man fatally stabbed his wife before committing suicide. The man used a sickle to inflict fatal injuries on his wife, according to the police. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday.

Seven-year-old girl witnesses the gruesome act: Police statement

According to the police, the 7-year-old niece of the couple was present and witnessed the horrific incident unfold. Circle Officer Prabhat Rai stated that the tragic event took place in the Dasyupur Deegh village in Bhadohi.

The man was later identified as Rajesh Nishad, who brutally attacked his wife, Shanno Nishad. He used the sickle to slit his wife’s throat before turning it on himself, as per the police. Initial investigations reveal that the couple, married for 8 years, did not have any children, leading to frequent altercations.

Following a recent argument, 28-year-old Shanno had left for her elder sister’s residence around four days prior. Rajesh followed her there on Friday, and a heated argument ensued on Saturday morning, leading to the tragic outcome. In a fit of rage, Rajesh resorted to violence, resulting in the fatal attack on his wife.

The brutal murder was witnessed by the niece of the deceased woman, who raised an alarm. Before other family members could intervene, Rajesh took his own life, as confirmed by the authorities.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately responded to the scene. The murder weapon, the sickle, was recovered by the authorities, who then proceeded to conduct post-mortems on both bodies. An extensive investigation has been launched, exploring all possible angles beyond the initial altercation theory. Family members are also being interrogated to shed light on the dynamics of the couple’s relationship.
