Shooting Incident in Putnum County, West Virginia

PUTNUM COUNTY, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police have provided details regarding a shooting incident that took place on Friday in Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia.

According to Captain R. A. Maddy, Troopers Fisher and Wise from the WVSP were called to respond to a shooting incident on Winfield Road.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the victim had visited the home of the alleged shooter, leading to a heated argument.

Allegedly, the shooter then discharged three rounds, with two of them hitting the victim in the leg.

The victim has been identified as 61-year-old John Hesler from Hopewell, Virginia, while the alleged shooter is known as John Bilzor, aged 53, from Fraziers Bottom.

Following the incident, Hesler was transported to CAMC General for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Captain Maddy, Bilzor was apprehended without resistance and is now facing charges of Malicious Wounding and Unlawful Assault.
