Cambridge Police Department Makes Arrest After “Shot Spotter Alert”

The Cambridge Police Department responded to a “Shot Spotter Alert” on Friday afternoon, which led to the arrest of a suspect in possession of a stolen handgun. The alert was received just after 1:30PM on the 800 block of Phillips Street in Cambridge, Maryland. Upon arrival, police discovered several houses and a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. Witnesses reported that four individuals were involved, and they were seen fleeing the scene in a white vehicle with Delaware license plates.

To assist in tracking down the suspects, the Cambridge Police Department deployed a K9 unit. A vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses was spotted on Willis Street, where four men exited the vehicle wearing dark clothing, with one individual wearing blue latex gloves. Dorchester County Sheriff’s Deputies, who were in the vicinity of Greenwood Avenue, observed the suspects entering an apartment building. Two individuals exited the apartment, and upon the arrival of Cambridge Police, one of the men attempted to flee, dropping a handgun in the process. The handgun was recovered and determined to have been stolen from Hartford County. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Isaiah David Foster from Cambridge, was apprehended by authorities. Foster, who was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to previous convictions, is currently being held without bond and faces multiple charges.
