KANSAS CITY Authorities Investigate Second Homicide
Law enforcement officials in Kansas City are now conducting a second homicide investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body on February 19.

Shortly before midnight on Monday, police were called to the intersection of 36th and Oakley Avenue after receiving reports of a body found in the area, as confirmed by Sheriff Daryl Forte’.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located the body of a woman identified as 26-year-old Ilaysha Gilliam in Dunbar Park. The victim appeared to have sustained severe injuries.
Initially classified as a suspicious death, the case has now been upgraded to a homicide investigation, Sheriff Forte’ announced.
