KANSAS CITY Woman’s Death Leads to Second Homicide Investigation
KANSAS CITY—Authorities in Kansas City are now facing a second homicide investigation following the death of a woman on February 19.

According to Sheriff Daryl Forte’, police were called to 36th and Oakley Avenue just before midnight on Monday after a body was discovered at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Ilaysha Gilliam, who was found in a field at Dunbar Park. She appeared to have suffered from traumatic injuries.
Initially considered a suspicious death, the case is now being treated as a homicide, as confirmed by Forte’.
