Derrick, a young man from Bogoso, was found lifeless in his room, hanging from the ceiling fan with a sponge around his neck. The news sent shockwaves through the community, leaving co-tenants and neighbours in disbelief.

A Community in Disbelief

As news of Derrick’s passing spread, those who knew him struggled to come to terms with the tragedy. Joana, a co-tenant who shared a kitchen with him, recounted the chilling moment she discovered his body. “I share a kitchen with him so I went there on Friday morning and found his phone had been ringing without response. I became alarmed and went to open his door only to see his lifeless body dangling on the ceiling fan,” she said.

Following the discovery of Derrick’s body, personnel from the Takoradi Central Police Station visited the scene to begin their investigation.
