Ferguson Man Charged with Murder in Fatal Shooting

An 18-year-old man from the 15000 block of Cove Lane in north St. Louis County is facing serious charges following a fatal shooting in Ferguson. Darrell Taylor has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident, which took place on Thursday night. Taylor is currently being held without bail in the St. Louis County Jail.

The tragic event unfolded when Ferguson police responded to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of South Harvey Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds seated in the driver’s position of a car. Despite efforts to save him, the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, a witness observed shots being fired inside the vehicle before seeing a figure exit the car, move to the passenger side, and fire again before fleeing the scene. Additionally, two bags of marijuana were found outside the vehicle near the passenger side.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene reported seeing a man with a bleeding left hand running down the street. The injured man, later identified as Taylor, claimed he had been shot and was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.

Further details emerged from court documents, indicating that Taylor and the victim were together in the car when the shooting occurred. Allegedly, the victim stopped the vehicle to allow Taylor to change the music before the gunfire erupted.

Notably, the victim’s sister informed authorities that she had provided the two men with $7,000 to film a music video earlier that evening. However, no cash was recovered at the scene or on Taylor following the incident.

In addition to the murder charge, Taylor has also been accused of armed criminal action and robbery. However, the specifics of the robbery allegation have not been elaborated upon in court records.
