Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Child in Manchester

A 33-year-old man from Hartford, Richard Daignault, is facing a slew of charges related to the sexual assault of a child in Manchester, according to police authorities.

Daignault has been charged with four counts each of first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury and/or impairing the morals of a child, and illegal sexual contact of a child.

The arrest of Daignault took place on Thursday, following an investigation that began in September 2023, Manchester police revealed.

The Child Investigations Unit received information regarding alleged child sex abuse incidents that occurred multiple times over several months.

Daignault was subsequently identified as the suspect in the case.

“After an extensive investigation and in collaboration with Klingberg Children’s Advocacy Center and the Department of Children and Families, an arrest warrant was issued for Daignault,” stated Lt. Nick Reinert of the Manchester police.

The arrest of Daignault was carried out without any issues, and he is currently being held on a $500,000 cash/surety bond. He is set to appear in court on Friday.
