Good Samaritan Doctor Aids MTA Conductor Slashed on Brooklyn C Train

In a harrowing incident on a C train in Brooklyn, an MTA conductor was slashed in the neck, but luckily, a pediatric emergency doctor came to his aid. Dr. Patrick McGrory, who works at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, stepped in to assist 59-year-old Alton Scott after he was attacked with an unknown object while performing his duties.

According to authorities, Scott had stuck his head out of his cab window when the attack occurred. He was quickly taken to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where he underwent a procedure to receive 34 stitches for the severe wound.

Transport Workers Union Local 100 reported that Scott credited Dr. McGrory with saving his life, stating that he wasn’t sure if he would have survived without the doctor’s intervention. Demetrius Crichlow, a senior vice president at NYC Transit, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the critical role played by the quick-thinking doctor.
