Teenagers Find Gruesome Discovery in Long Island Park

A group of teenagers came across a shocking scene in a Long Island park on Thursday morning, uncovering a severed arm that led to the discovery of two bodies that had been recently dumped, according to Suffolk County police.

The teenagers, on their way to a nearby school at around 8:40 a.m., were horrified to stumble upon a severed left arm belonging to a male victim at the east end of Southards Pond Park in Babylon. The girl who spotted the arm immediately alerted her father, who then called 911 to report the disturbing find.

Following the initial discovery, a police search of Southards Pond Park revealed more gruesome evidence. The remains of a man and a woman were found, with the man’s body parts located on the park’s eastern side and the woman’s remains on the western side.

With the help of a cadaver dog, authorities were able to locate the female victim’s head, arm, and leg in a pile of leaves in the west end of the park. On the east side, the dog found a right arm, which was tattooed and identified as belonging to the male victim, approximately 20 feet away from where the left arm was found.

Investigators believe that the bodies were recently dumped, possibly just hours or a day before they were discovered. A police spokesperson stated that the victims were likely killed elsewhere and then discarded in the park, possibly by someone in a vehicle.

The search for additional body parts continued into Friday morning, with authorities providing no updates on autopsies or the potential identities of the victims. The investigation is being treated as a homicide.
