Details of the Alleged Kidnapping

On February 21, officers responded to a call reporting a possible kidnapping at 1:45 p.m. The victim, a 9-year-old girl, claimed that she was walking home from Jefferson Elementary School when a white van or SUV pulled up beside her. A masked man dressed in all black allegedly grabbed her by the arm and forced her into the vehicle.

According to Sanger Police Chief Greg Garner, the victim was only driven “a block or two” before the kidnappers released her, possibly due to her loud screams. Despite the traumatic experience, the girl was able to escape relatively unharmed.

Search for Evidence

Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement, no evidence corroborating the victim’s report has been found thus far. Video surveillance footage from the area has been carefully reviewed, but no vehicles matching the description provided by the girl have been identified as suspects.

A recent statement released by the police stated, “At this point, the validity of the complaint remains unsubstantiated.” Detectives are committed to continuing their investigation and following up on any new leads that may arise.
