As the night fell, a routine check by a CBP K-9 unit led to the interception of a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man who was on the verge of crossing the border into the U.S.

Discovery of Fentanyl

Upon initial inspection, the CBP canine detected the presence of narcotics in the glove compartment area, prompting officers to conduct a thorough search. This search revealed 100 packages containing blue pills hidden in the car’s dashboard and front seats.

Subsequent testing confirmed that the contents of the packages were indeed fentanyl, a highly potent and dangerous synthetic opioid.

Legal Action

Following the discovery, the driver was handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, both the narcotics and the vehicle used in the smuggling attempt were seized by CBP officers.
