Suspect Charged in Park Manor Shooting
The suspect, Trivell Pruitt, 53, from the North Austin neighborhood, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident that took place at 7125 S. State St.
Details of the Shooting
According to Chicago Police Wentworth Area Deputy Chief Don Jerome, the shooting occurred on Monday evening following a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots fired at 5:41 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two wounded individuals. A 59-year-old man, identified as Simon Brown, had been shot in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Brown was believed to be an innocent bystander, along with two other individuals present at the scene.
Another victim, a 49-year-old man standing at an ATM nearby, was shot in the forehead and is in critical condition. A third victim, a 50-year-old man, was dropped off at a local hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. He is currently in stable condition.

Suspected Gunman’s Condition
The suspected gunman was also injured in the incident, sustaining a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition. Police believe that the gunman was involved in a quarrel that led to the shooting.
Additionally, another individual at the scene opened fire, possibly in response to the initial shooting, resulting in the injury of the suspected gunman.
