Tragic Collision Claims Life of Rio Grande City Man
RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A devastating two-vehicle crash in Rio Grande City has left one man dead, authorities have confirmed.
On Tuesday at 2 p.m., tragedy struck on FM 755, in the vicinity of Embassy Road in Rio Grande City, as two vehicles collided, resulting in a fatal outcome, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
An investigation conducted by authorities revealed that a 2011 GMC Sierra, travelling north on FM 755, collided with a flatbed trailer as the driver of the GMC failed to maintain a safe distance, resulting in a rear-end collision, as stated by DPS.
Disturbingly, it was disclosed that the driver of the GMC was reportedly distracted in the moments leading up to the tragic collision.

Tragically, the front passenger of the GMC, identified as 34-year-old Michael Villanueva from Rio Grande City, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
