Pochettino, a 38-year-old man from Lafayette Hill, Montgomery County, lost his life in the tragic incident. The Bucks County Coroner’s Office confirmed Pochettino as the driver of the Volvo involved in the crash.

The fatal crash occurred near the Route 1 interchange, where Pochettino’s vehicle collided and became trapped under a crane. Reports indicate that the vehicle caught fire, adding to the intensity of the situation. The cause of death is currently pending investigation by the Coroner’s Office.

Pennsylvania State Police are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the crash. Initial reports suggest that Pochettino was travelling at an excessive speed when he attempted to pass the crane, resulting in the loss of control and the subsequent collision. The crash took place around 3:39 p.m. on the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Route 1 interchange, close to the construction site for Phase II of the Route 1 Improvement Project by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The accident caused temporary closures of the right lane of the turnpike and the westbound off-ramp at Exit 351.
Local emergency responders, including Bensalem Fire Rescue, quickly arrived at the scene to address the situation. Engine 222 reported a vehicle trapped under a crane, with the person inside well involved. Additional units were deployed to assist in the rescue efforts.
