Danville Police Department Investigating Fatal Shooting Incident

On the evening of 28th February 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Danville Police Department received a report of a shooting incident at a residence in the 800 block of South St. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two male individuals present.

Tragically, a 30-year-old man from Bourbonnais, IL, identified as Leequale E. Key, was found to have sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital in Danville. Despite medical efforts, Key succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. In connection with the incident, a 26-year-old man from Champaign, Nairobi J. Williams, was taken into custody by authorities on suspicion of 1st Degree Murder.

The Danville Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. At this time, no further details have been disclosed to the public.
