Woman arrested in Blytheville on suspicion of involvement in criminal enterprise

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) – A 23-year-old woman from Memphis, Latijah Keshae Starr, was arrested by Blytheville and Memphis police on suspicion of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise or organization. The arrest took place on Sunday, Feb. 25, following a search warrant at a residence in the 6000 block of Mission Ridge Road.

The arrest of Starr was part of ‘Operation Heavy Lift,’ a nationwide effort announced by Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson in January 2024 to combat the theft of rental equipment. This operation involved multiple agencies, including Blytheville police, Arkansas State Police, and the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office.

In a coordinated effort on Thursday, Jan. 11, arrest warrants were obtained for 21 individuals identified as part of a continuing criminal enterprise. Additionally, search warrants were executed at two residences in Blytheville, resulting in the seizure of two vehicles.

Before the search warrant was executed on Feb. 25, a felony warrant was obtained for the arrest of Starr, as authorities believed she resided at the Mission Ridge Road property. During the operation, another individual, Maleke Dority, was also arrested for an active warrant issued by the Little Rock Police Department.

Starr is expected to be arraigned upon her extradition back to Arkansas. The evidence collected during the search warrant is currently undergoing processing by the relevant departments.

Authorities are still on the lookout for four individuals with felony warrants issued as part of the investigation:
