Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn (WABC) — Authorities are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, resulting in the death of a man.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting on McKeever Place.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a 33-year-old male, identified as Lamine Bah, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was swiftly transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Speaking on behalf of the victim, Boke Barry, a family member, described Bah as a kind-hearted individual beloved by all in the community.

The tight-knit West African community in the area expressed shock and disbelief at the sudden loss of a hardworking and amiable man.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but authorities are actively searching for two male suspects who reportedly fled on foot towards Franklin Avenue.

Investigators recovered four shell casings at the crime scene, further aiding in their pursuit of justice.
