Dover Police Department Arrests Three Men in Connection to Home Invasion and Shooting

The Dover Police Department has recently made significant progress in the investigation of a home invasion and shooting that occurred earlier this month. The incident, which took place on Old Forge Drive, resulted in one man sustaining a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Following the incident on February 14th, the authorities received a report of a shooting at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival, they discovered a 31-year-old man who had been shot. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Subsequent investigations led to the identification of three suspects involved in the crime. Jaymere Lewis, 27, from Smyrna, Emory Cannon, 30, from Dover, and Morris Savage, 30, also from Dover, were named as the individuals responsible for the home invasion and shooting.

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Assault Second Degree
  • Aggravated Menacing

  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Conspiracy Second Degree
  • Theft

Following his arrest, Lewis was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution on $147,000 cash bail.

Collaboration and Arrests in Los Angeles

On February 28th, the authorities received information suggesting that Morris Savage and Emory Cannon were en route to Los Angeles via train. With the cooperation of Amtrak and the Los Angeles Police Department, Savage and Cannon were successfully apprehended in Los Angeles.

Both individuals are currently awaiting extradition back to Delaware to face charges related to the home invasion and shooting. The Dover Police Department commends the collaborative efforts that led to the arrest of the suspects.
