Details of the Incident

An elderly man named Gopal Chaudhary, aged 62, was tragically shot dead by armed criminals outside the Ara Civil Court in broad daylight. The incident took place near Ramna Maidan in front of the court premises, causing panic and chaos among the onlookers. The victim, critically injured, was swiftly taken to Ara Sadar Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Identity of the Deceased

Gopal Chaudhary, a resident of Belaur village in the Udavantnagar police station area and son of the late Degree Chaudhary, was the unfortunate victim of this heinous crime. He had come to the Civil Court for a hearing related to a murder case in which he was involved. The assailants, who were reportedly lying in wait, attacked him as soon as he arrived at the court premises.

Police Response and Investigation

Following the shooting, a large contingent of police officers rushed to the scene to secure the area and initiate an investigation. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bhojpur also arrived promptly to oversee the situation. It has been revealed that the attackers targeted Gopal Chaudhary due to his involvement in a previous murder case from 2016. The police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the culprits responsible for this heinous act.

Background of the Case

The incident is believed to be linked to a longstanding dispute between two parties, namely Bootan Chaudhary and Ranjit Chaudhary. In 2016, Ranjit’s brother was allegedly murdered by Bootan Chaudhary and his associates, with Gopal Chaudhary being one of the accused in the case. The shooting outside the Civil Court seems to be a direct consequence of this unresolved feud, leading to a tragic loss of life and further complications in the ongoing investigation.
