Raipur Doctor Ends Life, Leaves Suicide Note

Raipur: Dr. Akhilesh Vishwakarma, a 52-year-old doctor posted at a community health center in Surajpur district, tragically ended his own life on Tuesday evening at his home. Police discovered a suicide note in which Dr. Vishwakarma expressed his deep despair and lack of will to continue living.

Dr. Vishwakarma, a senior doctor at the PHC in Pratappur, returned home and locked himself in his room. Concerned when he did not respond to calls for dinner, his son and daughter-in-law found him hanging from the ceiling fan. The police were called immediately, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Neighbors revealed that Dr. Vishwakarma had faced significant loss and hardship in his life, having lost both his wives – one shortly after marriage and the second to COVID-19. Tragically, his son from his first marriage also took his own life two years ago after struggling to clear the NEET exam.

Dr. Vishwakarma’s struggles with depression were known to those close to him, and his family members are currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation. He was living with his son and daughter-in-law at the time of his death.

The police have filed a complaint and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr. Vishwakarma’s untimely death. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support, especially in high-stress professions like healthcare.
