Pune: A 20-year-old youth, Ali Sayyad, tragically passed away on Tuesday after being brutally assaulted by four suspects, including three brothers from Akurdi. The incident took place late on Saturday at Pandharkar Vasti in Akurdi when Sayyad went to confront the siblings for assaulting his 17-year-old friend over a minor issue.
The police have taken into custody the three brothers – Naushad Sah (21), Mubin Sah (18), and Shamim Sah (27) – along with their accomplice Sujit Pal (18) under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint against them was filed by Sayyad’s minor friend.
An officer from the Nigdi police station revealed, “The complainant informed us that he had a disagreement with one of the brothers, leading to the three brothers teaming up against him. They proceeded to assault him with a bamboo stick. Upon learning about the incident, Sayyad decided to confront the brothers and went to meet them.”
“Tragically, on Tuesday, Sayyad succumbed to his injuries at the hospital,” the officer added.
