The Wild Incident in a Colorado Springs Laundry Room

In a surprising turn of events at an apartment complex off Fountain Boulevard near Chelton in Colorado Springs, a seemingly routine trespassing call quickly spiraled into chaos. The incident, which took place late Wednesday night, involved a series of violent outbursts that left one individual in police custody.

Police Response and Escalation

Upon responding to the trespassing call, officers encountered two individuals inside a laundry room within the complex. While one person cooperated and was promptly released with a warning, the other individual, later identified as Alexandra Keranen, became verbally combative and refused to comply with officers’ instructions.

According to a statement from a CSPD lieutenant, Keranen’s behaviour quickly escalated as she became physically aggressive towards the officers. She kicked at a cruiser window, spat on and headbutted an officer, and attempted to assault others on the scene.

Continued Resistance

Even after being restrained and taken to Memorial Central, Keranen continued to resist authorities. She reportedly spat on a security officer and kicked another police officer while in custody.

Despite the violent nature of the incident, none of the officers involved sustained any injuries or were exposed to Keranen’s saliva during the altercation.

Current Status

As of Thursday morning, Alexandra Keranen remains in custody, as confirmed by jail records. The situation serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of law enforcement work and the challenges faced by officers on a daily basis.
