NYPD Seeks Public’s Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Brooklyn Deli Worker’s Death

The New York Police Department (NYPD) is reaching out to the community for help in identifying an individual wanted for questioning in connection to the tragic death of a 37-year-old deli worker in Brooklyn.

According to reports, the incident took place on Monday, Feb. 26, at approximately 4:10 p.m. inside a deli located at 801 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights. The victim, identified as Nazim Berry, was engaged in a verbal dispute with an unknown individual when the situation escalated.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly fired a gun, hitting Berry in the head before fleeing the scene on foot towards Lincoln Place. Emergency services rushed Berry to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Suspect Description

The individual being sought by the NYPD is described as having a cornrow braids hairstyle and a dark complexion. At the time of the incident, he was seen wearing a black-and-white jacket, black sneakers, and black jeans.
