The incident occurred shortly after Swift’s performance in the Australian city.

A representative from Swift’s camp has claimed that the photographer in question was acting “aggressively” towards the singer and her team. According to The Mirror, the spokesperson stated, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”

North Shore Police Area Command officers have confirmed the incident, but have chosen not to disclose the identities of those involved. They have stated that they are investigating an “alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf” around 2.30 am local time. The statement also mentioned that the younger man reported the incident and that inquiries are ongoing.

Reports from Australia’s Sky News later indicated that Scott Swift was one of the individuals involved in the altercation. The photographer identified as Ben McDonald, who serves as the chief executive of Matrix Media Group, was reportedly taking photos of Swift as she and Scott disembarked from a yacht at Neutral Bay. Witnesses claim that Swift and her father quickly entered a waiting car, with the singer’s entourage using umbrellas to shield her from being photographed.

McDonald has alleged that he was “charged and punched in the face” by Scott Swift during the incident. He expressed his shock, stating, “In 23 years of doing this, I’ve never been assaulted, let alone been punched in the face by a father.”

Swift’s Eras Tour recently concluded at Sydney’s Accor Stadium. During her final show, the Grammy winner expressed her gratitude to the audience, saying, “We have had the most wonderful time.
