Second Man Charged in Fatal Shooting Outside Overland Bar in St. Louis County

A second suspect has been charged in connection with a shooting that took place outside STL On The Rocks, a bar located in the 10000 block of Page Avenue in Overland, St. Louis County. The incident, which occurred on February 2, resulted in the death of one man and left another person injured.

Details of the Shooting

Police responded to a call about a shooting and found two individuals outside the bar with gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Tragically, Rashad Redd, one of the victims, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim survived the ordeal.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage from both inside and outside the bar, investigators discovered that a fight had broken out inside the establishment. Security personnel then escorted the individuals involved in the altercation outside, where the altercation escalated.

Alleged Involvement of Manuel Burgess and Melvin Fraction

According to authorities, the situation took a deadly turn when gunfire erupted in the parking lot. It is alleged that Manuel Burgess and Melvin Fraction were captured on video discharging firearms in the direction of Rashad Redd and the other victim.

Melvin Fraction was taken into custody and charged earlier this month. Manuel Burgess, on the other hand, was apprehended on February 26.

Charges Against Manuel Burgess

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has formally charged Manuel Burgess with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Burgess is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 5 for a bond reduction hearing.

As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the case.
