Driver Facing Charges After Fatal Collision in King Township

A motorist involved in a tragic single-vehicle accident in King Township on February 18 is now facing multiple charges following an investigation by York Regional Police.

The collision occurred at the intersection of King Road and 8th Concession, just east of the community of Nobleton. According to authorities, the incident took place shortly before 7 a.m. and involved a black Infinity G37 that collided with a light pole.

Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of an 18-year-old female passenger from Brampton. Additionally, four other passengers were injured in the accident. An 18-year-old man from Brampton sustained critical injuries, while two 19-year-old women from Welland and St. Catharines suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Another 18-year-old man from Brampton was treated for minor injuries.

The driver, identified as 18-year-old Denrick Rose of Brampton, emerged from the collision unscathed. However, on February 27, investigators from YRP’s Major Collision Investigation Unit charged Rose with several offences.

Charges and Investigation Details

Rose is facing charges of dangerous operation causing death, failure to comply with a release order, and three counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Police revealed that the occupants of the vehicle had attended a party in Caledon before the collision.

Investigation findings suggest that the vehicle involved was travelling at high speeds on Highway 400 and King Road leading up to the crash, which occurred between 5 and 7 a.m. on February 18. Authorities have released an image of the model of the Infinity G37 and are seeking further information from the public.
