Man Fatally Stabbed in Peoria, Suspect Arrested

Denarius Barnett, aged 37, tragically lost his life on Tuesday night in Peoria due to a fatal stabbing incident. The victim’s brother, Jeremy Barnett, aged 31 and a resident of Peoria, has been taken into custody by the Peoria police and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing.

Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood, revealed that Denarius Barnett sustained a single stab wound to his chest, resulting in severe internal trauma and bleeding. Harwood further stated that Denarius likely succumbed to his injuries within seconds of the attack.

The incident took place at around 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday night in the 1000 block of West Virginia Avenue, where Denarius Barnett was discovered with a stab wound to his chest.
