Suspect Evades Police in Burke County
Authorities in Burke County are currently on the lookout for a suspect who led police on a chase earlier this week. The incident, which took place on Monday (February 26), involved the Morganton Department of Public Safety.
Initial Traffic Stop
According to reports, Public Safety Officers initiated a traffic stop on a 1997 Infiniti I30. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 52-year-old Tracy Lee Greene, a resident of Morganton.

During the investigation, a K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist the officers. However, Greene decided to flee from the officers in his vehicle, sparking a dangerous chase. Despite efforts to apprehend him, officers eventually chose to disengage due to Greene’s reckless driving and his known identity.
Warrant Issued
Following the chase, Greene was issued a Warrant for Arrest by the Burke County Magistrate’s Office. The warrant includes charges of Felony Fleeing to Elude Arrest, along with several other traffic violations. Greene was last seen in the vicinity of US Highway 64, driving his 1997 Infiniti I30 with a North Carolina license plate reading TMC-7033.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and not approach Greene or his vehicle if spotted. Instead, individuals are advised to contact local law enforcement immediately with any information that may assist in locating Greene.
