Seaburg was on DUI emphasis patrol in the Kent area when the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jason Posada, failed to stop. After crashing into another vehicle, Posada fled the scene, leading Seaburg into a pursuit that culminated in a struggle at an apartment complex on West James Place.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly shot Seaburg, leaving behind five shell casings and causing nine bullet holes on Seaburg’s body. Despite the severity of his injuries, Seaburg’s neighbours recall his daily commitment to protecting the community.

Following the incident on February 16, Seaburg was rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized.
