Indian Man Dies in UAE, Family Seeks Help to Bring Back Remains

An Indian man hailing from Telangana’s Medak district tragically passed away in the UAE on February 24 due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The deceased, Shaik Nizamuddin, had been residing in the UAE for his salary settlement after the company he worked for as a driver shut down three years ago.

Son Appeals to External Affairs Minister for Assistance

Shaik Nizamuddin’s son, Shaik Aamir, received the heartbreaking news of his father’s demise through a phone call. In a heartfelt letter addressed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Aamir pleaded for help in repatriating his father’s mortal remains to India. He highlighted the dire situation of his family, with his father being the sole breadwinner.

In the emotional plea, Aamir wrote, “My father, Shaik Nizamuddin, was a resident of H No: 5-6-143/267/F Fareed Nagar, Zaheerabad, Telangana. He had been staying in the UAE since 2018 for his salary settlement. On February 24, 2024, I received the devastating news of his sudden demise due to cardiac arrest. Our family is in urgent need of assistance to bring back his remains and secure his pending salary and settlement.”

Majlis Bachao Tahreek Raises Awareness

Amidst the family’s plea for help, spokesperson for Majlis Bachao Tahreek, Amjed Ullah Khan, shared Aamir’s letter on social media to garner support for the cause. Khan tagged Minister Jaishankar in the post, urging him to facilitate the repatriation of Shaik Nizamuddin’s remains back to Medak, Telangana.

The community has rallied behind the grieving family, calling for swift action to ensure that Shaik Nizamuddin’s final journey home is facilitated without further delay. The tragic incident serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by migrant workers abroad and the importance of timely support in times of crisis.
