Man Arrested After Shooting Friend on Florida’s Turnpike

The Florida Highway Patrol requested assistance from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office after receiving reports of a man stopping vehicles and asking for help on the Turnpike. Deputies responded to the scene and found Bounmy Xayavong, who recounted the harrowing experience of being shot by his longtime friend, Sergio Villanueva, during an argument about an ex-girlfriend. Xayavong managed to escape from the vehicle and seek help, while Villanueva fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of confusion and fear.
