Bhopal: A deputy sarpanch was allegedly murdered by unidentified persons in Shahdol district.

The body of Samay Lal Sahu, the deputy sarpanch of Barha Tola village panchayat under Beohari police station area, was discovered on Monday on the village outskirts, according to the police. Locals spotted the body and promptly informed the authorities.

The deceased was later identified as Sahu, with injury marks on the head indicating that the head may have been crushed with stones or a heavy object to hide the victim’s identity, the police reported. The body was sent for post-mortem examination, and a case was registered against unidentified suspects. Investigations are currently ongoing.
