Pregnant Amish Woman Found Deceased in Crawford County identified

CORRY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have identified the pregnant Amish woman found deceased in Sparta Township, Crawford County.

Following an emergency call, Troopers from Troop E – Corry responded to the scene on Fish Flats Road, where they discovered the body of 23-year-old Rebekah A. Byler. Byler, who was expecting her third child, was found in her home and pronounced dead at the scene.

The tragic incident took place on February 26, 2024, with Byler being found in the main living area of her home by a family member and a friend. Her two young children were present at the time, while her husband was not at home.

The Pennsylvania State Police, led by Trooper Hubbard, are treating the case as a criminal homicide and have launched a thorough investigation. Forensic teams have meticulously combed through the scene for evidence as part of their ongoing efforts.

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information regarding suspicious individuals, vehicles, or activities near Fish Flats Road. Tips and leads can be reported to the Corry barracks at 814-663-2043.
