The unfortunate accident claimed the life of a 50-year-old home guard named Mohd Halim, who was driving the police vehicle at the time of the crash.

Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister and leader of the opposition, was passing through Purnea on his way to Katihar as part of his “Jan Vishwas Yatra”. In adherence to protocol, a police vehicle was dispatched from the police lines to escort him during his journey.
