Woman Allegedly Attacks Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputies During River Rescue

According to a statement released by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, Lacey Mosher, a 38-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, has been taken into custody after reportedly assaulting two deputies who were trying to rescue her from the swollen waters of the Russian River.

The incident took place on February 25 at approximately 4:20 PM when emergency dispatchers received a distress call about a child being carried away by the strong currents of the Russian River near Johnson’s Beach in Guerneville. The river had been significantly swollen by recent heavy rains, creating hazardous conditions with fast-flowing rapids and debris, exacerbated by the icy cold water temperature.

Sergeant Gary Lawson, the first deputy to arrive at the scene, spotted a person struggling in the middle of the river near the entrance of Fife Creek. Without hesitation, Sgt. Lawson quickly shed his gear and entered the water in an attempt to reach the distressed individual. Deputy Anthony Powers arrived shortly after and provided a life vest to Sgt. Lawson to aid in the rescue effort. It was later identified that the person in distress was Lacey Mosher. However, the rescue took a dangerous turn when Mosher began to resist, leading to a struggle that resulted in Sgt. Lawson being pushed underwater by Mosher.

Despite the challenging conditions, Deputy Cody McCready joined in the rescue operation to assist his colleagues. The Sonoma County Fire District firefighters, who arrived at the scene by boat, managed to successfully extract Mosher from the water first due to the limited capacity of the boat. They then returned to retrieve the deputies, Sgt. Lawson and Deputy McCready. Both deputies were treated for exposure to the cold water and released at the scene.

After being taken to a local hospital, Mosher continued her aggressive behaviour towards first responders and medical staff. The press release from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office revealed that Mosher has been arrested on charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer, being under the influence of drugs, and violating probation, which is considered a felony. She is currently being held without bail due to the violation of her bail conditions.

Sheriff Eddie Engram praised the bravery and dedication shown by Sgt. Lawson and Deputy McCready during the rescue operation, highlighting their unwavering commitment to public service. The incident also highlighted the effective collaboration between different agencies, including the Sonoma County Fire District and CHP – Santa Rosa.

the latest trends in sustainable fashion:

Sustainable fashion is no longer just a passing trend – it has become a full-fledged movement that is reshaping the way we think about clothing. As consumers become more conscious of the environmental and social impact of their purchases, the demand for sustainable fashion has been steadily increasing. From eco-friendly materials to ethical manufacturing practices, the fashion industry is undergoing a major transformation.

One of the key trends in sustainable fashion is the use of organic and recycled materials. Designers are increasingly turning to materials such as organic cotton, hemp, and bamboo, which are grown without the use of harmful chemicals and pesticides. Recycled materials, such as plastic bottles and old denim, are also being repurposed into new garments, reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

Another important aspect of sustainable fashion is ethical manufacturing practices. Many brands are now prioritizing fair labor practices and safe working conditions for their workers. This includes paying fair wages, providing benefits, and ensuring that workers are treated with respect and dignity. By supporting brands that prioritize ethical manufacturing, consumers can help promote positive change in the fashion industry.

In addition to using eco-friendly materials and ethical manufacturing practices, sustainable fashion also encompasses other aspects such as reducing carbon emissions and water usage. Many brands are now focusing on reducing their carbon footprint by using renewable energy sources and implementing energy-efficient practices in their production processes. Water usage is also a major concern in the fashion industry, with many brands implementing water-saving technologies and techniques to minimize their impact on the environment.

As the demand for sustainable fashion continues to grow, many mainstream brands are also jumping on the bandwagon. Fast fashion giants such as H&M and Zara have launched sustainable fashion lines, offering consumers more options for eco-friendly clothing. This shift towards sustainability in the fashion industry is a positive step towards creating a more environmentally conscious and socially responsible industry.

Overall, the latest trends in sustainable fashion are a reflection of the growing awareness and concern for the environment and social issues. By supporting brands that prioritize sustainability, consumers can make a positive impact on the fashion industry and help create a more sustainable future for all..
