Nashville Fugitive Glenwan Hobson Jr. Captured After Nearly Two Years on the Run

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — After almost two years of being on the run, Glenwan Hobson Jr., 28, has been apprehended in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Madison, leaving one man injured. Hobson was identified as one of Nashville’s “Most Wanted” fugitives, making him a prime target for law enforcement authorities.

Hobson’s name first appeared on the Metro Nashville Police Department’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list on Nov. 2, 2022, a mere six months after the alleged shooting incident took place. The incident, which occurred on June 6, 2022, at a residence on Madison Boulevard, involved gunfire that resulted in one man sustaining a gunshot wound to his left calf.

According to an arrest affidavit, a woman present at the scene also reported feeling a burning sensation on her neck, indicating that she may have been grazed by a bullet during the incident. The sequence of events began when the woman heard a knock at the door and observed a black Dodge Charger parked outside the residence.

Upon answering the door, the woman encountered Hobson, who inquired about the presence of a man at the residence. Subsequently, when the man approached the door, Hobson allegedly fired multiple shots in his direction, causing panic and fear among the occupants of the home.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and expressed fear for their safety, with one person mentioning the possibility of being shot by Hobson. Investigators recovered a 9mm cartridge casing and projectile from the scene, leading to Hobson’s identification as the primary suspect through a photo lineup.

Further investigation revealed a potential motive for the shooting, linking it to a prior altercation involving Hobson’s child and the injured man. This revelation shed light on the circumstances leading up to the violent incident and provided crucial insight for law enforcement.

Despite evading capture for over a year, Hobson was finally arrested on Monday, Feb. 26, on charges including attempted criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and a felony weapon offense. He remains in custody with a bond set at $255,000 as of Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Hobson’s apprehension marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to bring fugitives to justice, with over 90 individuals being captured since the inception of the “Top 10 Most Wanted” program in October 2022. The success of the program can be attributed to the invaluable tips provided by members of the public, aiding law enforcement in their pursuit of justice.
