Man Found Dead in Iroquois Neighborhood, Suspect Arrested After Police Chase
Authorities in Louisville, Kentucky were left shocked and saddened after a man was found dead in the quiet neighbourhood of Iroquois on Sunday. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Alain Garcia Perez, was discovered with severe blunt force injuries, sparking an intense investigation.
Adding to the mystery, Perez’s car was missing from the scene, leaving detectives with more questions than answers. However, a breakthrough came when the missing vehicle was located in an unexpected location – Miami, Florida.
Police in Florida received a tip from the FBI alerting them to a stolen car that was believed to be linked to the Iroquois homicide. Following the lead, detectives located the Red Chevrolet Camaro parked near an apartment complex in Miami.
As authorities closed in on the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Liobys Caro-Mena, made a desperate attempt to flee. A dramatic police chase ensued, with Caro-Mena driving recklessly through the streets of Miami.

During the pursuit, Caro-Mena collided with another vehicle, causing injuries to the occupants. Undeterred, he continued to evade capture, ultimately crashing into multiple cars stopped at a red light.
The high-speed collision resulted in Caro-Mena losing control of the stolen vehicle, which ultimately rolled over. Despite his attempts to escape, he was apprehended by law enforcement and now faces a slew of serious charges.
