Shocking Video Emerges Showing Suspect and Person of Interest Before Fatal Shooting Near Gas Station

A chilling video has surfaced, capturing a suspect and a person of interest moments before a tragic shooting took place near a gas station close to Georgia State University. The incident unfolded on a Sunday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the community.

Details of the Incident

The footage reveals two individuals inside a Racetrac Gas Station near GSU, just before a 21-year-old individual was shot and killed in the vicinity. One man, identified as a suspect, was spotted wearing a black jacket, while the other individual, labeled as a person of interest, was seen in a red hoody.

According to Atlanta police reports shared with Channel 2 Action News, the shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. at the 100 block of Piedmont Avenue, in a bustling area near the university campus.

RaceTrac Gas Station Closure

In response to the tragic event, RaceTrac announced on Monday that the gas station opposite the shooting scene has been permanently shut down due to concerns regarding public safety. A statement released by RaceTrac mentioned, “We have been closely monitoring the safety of our team members and our guests at this location, as well as its financial impact to our business, and have come to the conclusion that the right path forward is to discontinue operations.”
