Three Arrested in Connection to Fatal Bronx Subway Attack

Three individuals have been taken into custody on Monday following a tragic incident on a Bronx subway that resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man. Justin Herde, 24, Alfredo Trinidad, 42, and Betty Cotto, 38, were apprehended by authorities, days after being identified as suspects in the attack that took place onboard a southbound D train approaching the 182nd–183rd Streets station.

Details of the Incident

The violence erupted around 5 a.m. on Friday when the victim, William Alvarez, engaged in an argument with one of the alleged attackers. The altercation quickly escalated as the two other suspects joined in, leading to the fatal outcome for Alvarez. It remains unclear whether Alvarez sustained a gunshot wound or was fatally stabbed, as reported by the NYPD.

Surveillance camera footage captured the entire incident, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
