Tragic Fire Incident Claims Life of 2-Year-Old Child Singa Gameti in Udaipur – Severe Burns to Sibling – Authorities Respond
In a tragic incident in Upalwas village under Bekaria police station area of Gogunda in Udaipur district, a fire broke out in a thatched hut late on Friday evening. The fire engulfed the hut, resulting in the death of a 2-year-old child and severe burns for his 5-year-old sibling.

The victims, identified as Singa Gameti (5) and Praveen Gameti (2), were left unattended at home as their parents had not returned from the farm. The fire started while the children were asleep, and despite Singa’s efforts to escape and save his younger brother, he was unable to do so in time.
By the time nearby residents reached the spot, everything in the house, including clothes, cash, and valuables, had been gutted by the fire. Bekaria SHO Dhanpat Singh arrived at the scene, and the charred remains of the 2-year-old were taken to the mortuary of Gogunda Government Hospital. Singa, who suffered severe burns, was rushed to M B Hospital in Udaipur for treatment.
This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in homes, especially in rural areas where thatched huts are common. The loss of a young life is always heartbreaking, and our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.
