Suspicious Death in Alfred-Plantagenet Leads to Second-Degree Murder Charge
A 30-year-old individual has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with a suspicious death investigation in the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet, located approximately 65 kilometres east of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada.
On the evening of Feb. 22, authorities were summoned to an apartment on County Road-17 in response to a distress call. Upon arrival, officers from the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment and Prescott-Russell Paramedics discovered the lifeless body of Timothy Provost, aged 32, who was found deceased in the apartment.
An official post-mortem examination has determined that Provost’s death was caused by a stabbing injury.
Arrest and Charges
Following a thorough investigation, Mathew Brisebois, aged 30 and a resident of Alfred-Plantagenet, was apprehended by law enforcement on Feb. 25. Brisebois has since been charged with Second Degree Murder in relation to the incident.

It is important to note that these charges are merely allegations at this stage and have not been tested or proven in court. The accused individual is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing scheduled to take place on Monday at the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal, Ontario.
