Tioga County Man Charged with Murder After Domestic Incident

A man from Tioga County, New York, has been arrested and charged with murder following a tragic domestic incident that resulted in the death of a woman. Michael Crandall, 36, is facing charges of felony second-degree murder and three counts of second-degree criminal contempt, according to the New York State Police at Owego.

On the early morning of February 19, state troopers rushed to 10 Debra Lee Drive in Apalachin in response to a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they found an injured male and female at the scene. Despite efforts to save her, the woman succumbed to her injuries sustained during the altercation. Her identity has not been disclosed at this time.

Following the incident, Crandall, who was also injured, was taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for medical treatment. Upon his release, he was charged and taken into custody.

Details surrounding the nature of the injuries sustained by the victims and any weapons involved have not been released by the authorities.

Crandall was arraigned and is currently being held at the Tioga County Jail as the investigation continues.
