Standoff in White Settlement, Texas
It was a typical Thursday afternoon in the quiet town of White Settlement, Texas when a routine warrant service took a dramatic turn. Authorities from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office found themselves in the midst of a tense standoff with a man wanted for assault.

On February 22, 2024, at approximately 2:25 p.m., deputies arrived at a residence in the 9200 block of Jason Lane in White Settlement. Their target was 55-year-old Richard Pasillas, a resident of White Settlement who was facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Continuous Violence Against a Family Member.
Refusal to Comply
As deputies made contact at the front door of the home, they were met by two adults and a juvenile who promptly exited the premises. However, Pasillas himself refused to comply with their commands, choosing instead to barricade himself inside the house. What ensued was an intense standoff that would last over an hour.
Resolution and Arrest
Despite Pasillas’ resistance, deputies were eventually able to gain entry into the home and apprehend him without further incident. He was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Tarrant County Jail to face the charges against him.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office expressed their appreciation for the assistance provided by both the White Settlement Police Department and the Fort Worth Police Department during the tense standoff.
