Nepali man in Gurugram kills wife, claims death was due to illness

A tragic incident unfolded in Gurugram as a 24-year-old Nepali man, Tapras Joshi, allegedly killed his wife, Shanti, under disturbing circumstances. Initially claiming her death was due to illness, Joshi was arrested after an autopsy revealed that she had died from strangulation, according to the local police.

The authorities were alerted to the situation when Shanti was brought to the hospital by her husband in an unresponsive state. Upon examination, medical professionals noted signs of strangulation and nail marks on her body, prompting further investigation.

The couple had only recently moved to Gurugram, residing in a PG accommodation in the Saraswati Kunj area of Sector-53. Their brief stay in the city took a tragic turn when an argument between them escalated into a violent altercation on Sunday night, resulting in Shanti’s untimely demise.

Recounting the events leading up to the incident, Joshi confessed to the police that his wife had kicked him during their argument, leading him to fatally strangle her with a scarf in a fit of rage. He then attempted to pass off her death as being caused by an illness, but the hospital staff’s suspicions prompted them to alert the authorities.

Following the autopsy results confirming the cause of death, the police promptly arrested Joshi and registered a case of murder against him at the Sector-53 police station. Inspector Rajender, the SHO of the station, reiterated the gravity of the situation, highlighting the swift action taken by law enforcement in response to the family’s complaint.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and the importance of seeking help and intervention before matters escalate to such tragic outcomes.
