Man Arrested in Connection to Armed Robbery at Pittsfield Cinema

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at the Beacon Cinema in Pittsfield. Kyle Richard Wilbur, aged 32, has been charged with armed robbery following the incident.

Details of the Incident

On Friday night, at approximately 10:18 p.m., the Pittsfield Police Department received reports of a man entering the Beacon Cinema located at 57 North Street and demanding money from the staff while claiming to be armed. After obtaining the money, the suspect swiftly fled from the scene.

Witnesses at the cinema provided a detailed description of the perpetrator to the authorities, who immediately initiated a search in the direction he was seen escaping. The police located an individual matching the description in the vicinity of Francis Avenue and Bradford Street.

Arrest and Court Appearance

The suspect, later identified as Kyle Richard Wilbur, was positively recognized by the victim and subsequently taken into custody by law enforcement officers. Although no weapon was recovered from Wilbur, a sum of cash believed to be part of the stolen funds was found in his possession. Wilbur was formally charged and appeared in court at the Pittsfield District Court on Monday.
