Two Individuals Charged in Connection with Killing of 27-Year-Old Man in East Bakersfield

Authorities in Bakersfield, California have announced that two individuals have been charged in relation to the tragic killing of a 27-year-old man last month in east Bakersfield.

Arrest and Charges

Jorge Esteban Garcia, aged 24, has been taken into custody and charged for the murder of Joseph Anthony Reynaga. Reynaga, aged 27, was discovered by law enforcement officials with gunshot wounds during the early hours of January 28th in the 10 block of Monterey Street. Despite efforts to save him, Reynaga was pronounced dead at a nearby medical facility.

Garcia was apprehended on February 9th and has pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder, as per court documents.

Second Individual Charged

Additionally, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office has disclosed that a second individual, identified as Desiree Marie Sanchez, faces two charges of accessory after the fact. Sanchez was granted release on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 4th.
