Pontiac Men Charged in Fatal Shooting After Argument Over Spitting Incident

Pontiac, Mich. (FOX 2) – Two individuals are now facing legal proceedings following a tragic incident in Pontiac, Michigan. Sadarie Deshawn Donalson, aged 22, has been charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed weapon, and resisting/obstructing/assaulting a police officer in connection with the untimely demise of 33-year-old Cornelius James Jones.

The unfortunate event unfolded after an altercation erupted at an apartment in the 200 block of Carriage Circle last week. Witnesses reported that the dispute began when Donalson spat in a sink around 9:30 p.m. on a Wednesday evening. Jones, understandably displeased by the disrespectful act, requested Donalson to vacate his residence.

In a sudden turn of events, Donalson brandished a firearm and discharged multiple rounds at Jones, resulting in fatal injuries. Responding deputies found Jones lying on the apartment floor, still breathing but tragically succumbing to his wounds later at a medical facility.

Donalson, along with his accomplice Dewaun Demarco Benion, aged 22, attempted to flee the scene. Benion was swiftly apprehended and faces charges of solicitation – assault with intent to cause great bodily harm less than murder, with a set bail of £75,000. Donalson was pursued and captured following a chase, and is presently incarcerated in the Oakland County Jail without the option of bond.
